Day 1: Drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Explore The Royal Palace at Nyanza And The Ethnographic Museum in Butare En-route

Following an early breakfast at your place of stay (own arrangement), you embark on the drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park 268km about 6 hours’ drive enjoying the scenic Rwanda countryside marked by rolling hills before approaching Nyanza where a stop will be made to tour the Rukaari – the traditional palace of the Rwandan Monarch.

The site features remarkable traditional hut which is an exact replica of the royal hut of King Musinga and his successor King Rudahigwa. T

here are beautiful traditional Inyambo cows at Nyanza Palace and can be viewed as well while a Rwanda dance group can as well entertain you with their remarkable Intore dance.

You retreat from the activity, proceed to Butare for lunch after which you will tour the ethnographic museum – the largest in Rwanda with 100,000 artifacts detailing the history and the culture of Rwanda.
