Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park Upon Arrival in Rwanda

You land at Kigali International Airport in the morning from your country of origin and team up with your driver guide to transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park 268km about 6 hours drive.

You can choose to freshen up at one of the hotels in Kigali before proceeding on the tour.

The drive takes you through the beautiful hills of Rwanda before making a lunch stop in Butare town in the southern province after which you proceed to Nyungwe for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 2: Undertake A Morning Chimpanzee Trekking & The Nyungwe Canopy Walk in The Afternoon

Following breakfast, set off at around 5:30am to Kyamudongo forest where the chimpanzee trekking is carried out.

The chimpanzee viewing activity commences at 8am and lasts 2 – 5 hours trekking through this ancient montane forest re-known to have survived the last ice age.

This gives opportunity to explore abundant biodiversity including bird species, fauna like the Black and white colobus monkeys, lush flora like Orchids among others.

The park ranger guides offer a themed interpretation the park and the chimpanzees in particular before retreating from the encounter.

Settle for lunch at the lodge after which you connect to Uwinka visitor center for an afternoon Nyungwe Canopy walk.

Apparently, this adventure walk is the best in the region of East Africa and the third best in Africa. The canopy walk way is 90m long and 50m high and would take about 2 hours to complete offering panoramic views of the forest.

Day 3: Drive Back to Kigali. Make A Stop En-route at Butare and Nyanza For Cultural Tours. Departure in The Late Evening

You drive back to Kigali 268km approximately 6 hours drive making a stop in Butare to visit the Ethnographic Museum with 100,000 which makes it the largest museum in Rwanda presenting the history and culture of Rwanda in-depth.

You proceed on the drive to make another stop at Nyanza palace where the two traditional Rwandan kings – King Musinga and his successor King Rudahigwa lived.

The impressive traditional hut named Rukaari is the exact replica of the King’s hut while the King’s equipment still exit, a selection of Inyambo cows – the traditional long horned cows of Rwanda also thrive at the site and can be viewed.

The local Kinyarwada performance would make the clients astonished. From the activity, you proceed on the drive to Kigali to catch up with an evening flight if you have one.
