The 12 Days Northern Madagascar Tour Adventure covers Amber Mountain National Park, Andasibe National Park, the Tsingy of Ankarana along with water-based recreation at NosyBe with optional snorkeling and diving.

Day 1: Arrive in Antananarivo & connect to the hotel

12 Days Northern Madagascar Safaris Tour Adventure – Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Antananarivo & Connect To The hotel

Arrive in Antananarivo Madagascar – Ivato International Airport, meet our representative & connect to the hotel

Day 2:  Connect From Antananarivo to Andasibe

After breakfast, drive to Andasibe, take up a hike to Mitsinjo Private Reserve upon arrival. In the evening, take up a night walk looking out for nocturnal species.

Day 3:   Tour Andasibe National Park

Transfer on a rough road to Mantadia Reserve – the habitat for a range of lemur species, chameleons and birds.

The 4hr hike is a challenging one though it offers a great exploration of Mantadia National Park’s primary forest.

Look out for Diademed sifaka, the Black-and-white ruffed lemurs and the insectivorous tenrecs along with rainforest-dependent ground rollers.

The afternoon offers a close encounter with lemurs at the Lemur’s Island.

Day 4:  Analamazaotra Nature Reserve Nature Walk & Drive Back to Antananarivo. Visit Peyrieras Reptile Farm

Take up a hike inside Analamazaotra Nature Reserve (another part of Périnet) looking out for the largest of all lemurs, called “Indri indri” along with other animals and medicinal plants.

Following the visit, transfer back to Antananarivo. Tour the Peyrieras’ reptile farm en route at Mandraka

Day 5:   Take a Flight From Antananarivo to Diego Suarez (The three bays)

Transfer by flight about 1hr 30 minutes to Diego where you will be welcomed by our representative and transfer to the Sakalava Bay for beach relaxation.

Stretch to the north of the Island enjoying the authentic touch of wilderness with sights of two (2) species of Baobab trees.

Lunch at the close restaurant and spend the afternoon doing Island walks and relaxation.

Day 6:  Diego Suarez – Joffreville (Amber Mountain NP)  

The day is dedicated for Amber Mountain National Park exploration with its dense rain forest. There are a range of circuits from which you can select the suitable one depending on the degree of physical fitness. The beautiful waterfalls offer good interceptions with nice sightseeing encounters.

Day 7: Joffreville – Mahamasina (Ankarana National Park)

Transfer southwards to the red Tsingy first after which you proceed to Ankarana National Park. Explore diverse landscapes dotted with lush vegetation, grassy valleys and the green rice fields.

The Antakarana people who inhabit this area are also popular Zebu farmers.

 Day 8: Explore Mahamasina (Ankarana National Park)

Take up a relaxed hike to explore the Tsingy, traversing its caves observing its incredible rock formation, flora and general biodiversity.

The Tsingy is home to birds, reptiles and lemurs. The Tsingy is the Antakarana’s tribe ancestral worshipping place.

Day 9: Mahamasina – Ankify – Nosy Be Island

Settle for breakfast after which you transfer southwards to Ankify. En route, explore plantations of pepper, vanilla and cocoa.

You will transfer by boat upon arrival at Ankify to Nosy Be Island and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 10:     Relaxation at Nosy Be Island

Spend the day at leisure and optional activities include; snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing among others.

Day 11: Transfer From Nozy Be to Antananarivo

Spend the morning at leisure before transferring to the Airport for the flight back to Antananarivo.

Day 12:  Antananarivo City Tour & Depart

If time permits, you will have a city tour with our tour guide, including the visit of the Queen’s palace (under reconstruction), and the old palace of the Prime Minister Rainilaiarivony who married the three Queens.

You will be able to visit the handicraft market at Digue before reaching the airport for check-in and flight back home.
