6 Days Wildlife Safari in Namibia – Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:  Transfer From Windhoek to Etosha National Park

You transfer at 6:30am from Windhoek to the north of Namibia 415km about 6 hours drive exploring the verdant countryside including farmlands and en route small towns.

You arrive in the park in the afternoon. The afternoon game drive is conducted upon entering the park and you can spend the late evening (after dinner time) exploring wild game at the floodlit water hole. Retire for overnight

Day 2:  Explore The Extensive Landscapes of Etosha National Park

The whole day is dedicated for extensive game driving experience commencing early in the morning in the cool desert air.

The day encounters include wildlife possibilities like African Bush elephant, Southern White Rhinos, Angolan Giraffe, South west African Lion, African leopard, South African Cheetah, Black-backed jackal, Brown and spotted Hyena, Aardwolf, common warthog, Plains Zebra, Gemsbok, Black-faced Impala, Plains and Mountain Zebra, Greater Kudu Blue Wildebeest; the magical sights of Etosha Salt Pan the dominant depression stretches over 5,000km2 covering 23% of the park’s landscape. Day 3: Transfer Back to Windhoek

Day 4: Drive From Windhoek to Sesriem Area

After breakfast at your place of stay in Windhoek, you embark on the transfer to Sesriem area 350km exploring the magical countryside including the views of Eros Mountains and the Naukluft Mountains which stand as historical geological features in Namibia.

The drive from the country’s central plateau presents remarkable views along the Remhoogte Pass down to the open plains and the small Solitaire Settlement.

You are welcomed by the dense red sand dune Namib desert arriving at the lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 5: Explore The Extensive Landscapes of Sossusvlei

You wake up very early to catch up with the sunrise the over the desert. You drive through Sesriem the main gateway to the famous dunes enjoying the views of the dune field before reaching Sossusvlei on foot allowing yourself to trek the remaining 5km through the magical dunes.

The photo opportunities of the Landscape are remarkable in the morning where the sun rise soft light illuminates the dunes from the crest down the back slope with an orange blaze all over generating a powerful contrasting vista throughout the desert.

The views of the ancient mineral pans, camel thorn tress, and possibility of viewing gemsbok along with Ostriches are magical.

This exploration is taken in the morning hours inside and around the area of Sossusvlei including the visit to dune 45.

You retreat to Sesriem for lunch avoiding the afternoon heat. In the evening, you take an excursion to the famous Sesriem Canyon.

Day 6: Transfer back to Windhoek

After a relaxed breakfast, you embark on the transfer back to Windhoek 450km using a different route that ascends to Gemsberg Pass in the Mountain range of Khomas Hochland as you head back to civilisation.
