RANOMAFANA NATIONAL PARK

Ranomafana National Park positioned in the south of east of Madagascar – the areas of Vatovavy-Fitovinany and Haute Matsiatra respectively.  Ronomafana is one of popular National Parks explored while on Madagascar tours.
Stretching to over 41,600 ha with great deal of tropical forest acting as a habitat to a range of species including the golden bamboo lemur (endangered), black and white ruffed lemur, the Milne-Edwards sifaka, over 130 frog species.  The eastern section of the park features remarkable scenery marked with a range of streams flowing majestically through dense forest landscape.
Ranomafana National Park is a section of Atsinanana Rain forests – a designated World Heritage Site.

ANDASIBE-MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK

Andasibe-Mantadia National Park stretches to 100 miles in the East of Madagascar and one of the incredible Madagascar tour sites. Andasibe-Mantadia National Park is a habitat to eleven (11) lemur species including the Indri – the Madagascar’s largest lemur. The park is close to Antananarivo (150km about 3 hours’ drive) and is separated into two sections; Mantadia National Park and Analamazoatra Reserve and 1 – 6hr hike tours are normally arranged to enable guests on tour in Madagascar explore this park.
The elevation of Andasibe- Mantadia National Park ranges between 800 – 1260m and is marked by a humid climate.

MASOALA NATIONAL PARK

Masoala National Park stretches 2300km² of rainforest and 100km² of marine parks lying in the northeast of Madagascar where it’s explored during tours in Madagascar.  It is the largest protected area on the Island.
Masoala National Park is home to ten (10) Lemur species among which include the Aye-aye – the largest nocturnal primate in the world. A range of birds, reptiles among which include Tomato frog thrive in Masoala National Park.  The three Marine parks include; Ambodilaitry in the South, Tampolo in the West and Ifaho in the East suitable for kayaking and snorkelling encounter.
The Masoala National Park features a diverse habitat including coastal forest, tropical rainforest, marsh and mangrove and flooded forest. The unique fauna include; red ruffed lemur that is native to the peninsula. The Nosy Mangabe Island reserve presents one of the best areas to explore the nocturnal aye-aye.
The hundreds of humpback whales come to Antongil Bay from July to early September during their long migration. The bay has warm protected waters which are suitable for whale breeding and calving.
Masoala National Park is a great wet place of Madagascar with the dry season only from September to December. During the cyclone season from January to March, the park is only accessible by a 3hr boat travel.
Masoala National Park is a World Heritage Site.

 ROYAL HILL OF AMBOHIMANGA

The Royal Hill of Ambohimanga is regarded among the sacred spots by the Malagasy people dating far back to 500 years. Travellers on Madagascar tour find this historic place worth exploring. The Hill was occupied by the Malagasy Royals.
The hill is surrounded by a wall constructed in the year 1847 with the help of a mortar and using lime and egg whites. The Mahandrihono compound features a former home of King Andrianampoinimerina with its walls comprised solid rosewood. The site also features artefacts of the great King among which include; weapons, drums and talismans.

 AVENUE OF THE BAOBABS

Avenue of the Baobabs is a majestic line up of trees along the rough road between Morondava and Belon’i Tsiribihina to the west of Madagascar. It is one of the natural amusements to explore while on the tour in Madagascar. The beautiful Baobab trees are over 800yrs old and were part of the dense tropical forest before the other trees and shrubs were cleared for agriculture.

TSINGY DE BEMARAHA

Located in Melaky region North West of Madagascar, Tsingy de Bemaraha is one of the fascinating places in the world explored on Madagascar tours. The word Tsingy literally refers to pinnacles that form the park’s limestone plateau.
Besides the stone forest, Tsingy de Bamaraha also comprise of a big mangrove forest and is home to seven (7) lemur species among which include the Deckens sifaka – popular for its creamy white fur and black face.
The National Park features the Great Tsingy along with the Little Tsingy with the nearby Tsingy de Bemaraha Strict Nature Reserve. It’s a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Tsingys stand as karstic plateaus that has been formed from undercutting of elevated uplands by underground ground water creating gouged caverns and the fissures into the limestone. Due to vertical and horizontal erosion experienced in this area, the forest of limestone needles has been created to the amusement of travellers on Madagascar adventure tours.
These karst badlands of Madagascar were designated as World Heritage site in 1990 and later a National Park in 1997.

ILE SAINTE MARIE

Ile Sainte Marie stretches to the Madagascar’s east coast.  The Island’s range of protected bays along with inlets used to attract pirates during the 17^th & 18^th Century and many years down the road, the wrecks pirate ships can still be explored from the shallow waters at Baie des Forbans. The clear waters at this site generate ideal spots for snorkelling. The site is also visited by migrating humpback whales during summer and early fall.
