The 3 Days Uganda Safari to Queen Elizabeth NP features wild game viewing, recreational boat cruise and chimpanzee trekking. Queen Elizabeth NP also referred to as the medley of wonders boasts of being the most popular destination in Uganda with a diverse ecosystem that features forested, savannah grassland, water environments and wetlands supporting counts of big game, primates like chimpanzees, Olive Baboons and Vervet Monkeys and the a count of over 600 Species of birds making it the first in the whole of Uganda. The waters of Kazinga channel supports counts of Nile crocodiles and Hippos along with water dwelling birds. The savannah landscapes supports Buffaloes, Elephants, Lions, Kobs, Water bucks, Bushbucks, Spotted Hyenas, Jackals, Olive baboons, Vervet Monkeys among others.

Detailed Safari Description

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP. Make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe for amazing photo shoots and water experiments and traditional lunch at Igongo Cultural Center

After breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, embark on the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 417km about 7 hours’ drive to the south west of Uganda. You make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe 77km from Kampala to encounter the world’s main latitude crossing dividing the world into two equal parts namely the southern and northern hemispheres. You can do water experiments that justify this geographic divide and amazing photo – shoots. Continue on the drive before making another stop at Igongo Cultural Center for traditional lunch at the famous Kahwa Kanuzire restaurant. You can also take an optional tour to the cultural Museum after which you will embark on the drive to Queen Elisabeth NP arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Undertake a morning game drive and afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise

Connect to the rolling savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth NP stretching to Kasenyi plains where counts of wild game might be encountered including the elephants, Buffaloes, lions, leopards, Kobs, waterbucks, spotted hyenas, jackals among others. You have chances of encountering these animals as they mate, patrol, socialize, graze and hunt among other aspects that lure you into remarkable amazement. Retreat from the 3 – 4 hour activity to embark on the transfer to the lodge for relaxation and lunch after which you gather at Mweya jetty for an afternoon boat cruise along the 45km Kazinga Channel. The cruise exposes you to possible magical sights of the Hippos, Nile crocodiles and other wild game like elephants and buffaloes drinking on the channel side. Retreat from the activity and do a simple game drive along the channel track as you head back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 3: Undertake chimpanzee trekking in the Valley of Apes and transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast, connect to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee trekking experience. Chimpanzees are close to people along with the Bonobos sharing a considerable percentage of our DNA. Thus, encountering them is one way of re-uniting with our wild cousins. You trek the chimps in Kyambura gorge with its steep slopes very challenging to hike and marked with impressive tropical forest that thrives below sea level. The gorge is 100m deep with a river flowing on its bed. The activity tends to last 2 – 5 hours with one hour of direct encounter with the chimps. The encounter with them as they munch fruit, patrol, mate, socialize and make pant hooting calls derives memorable experience. Retreat from the activity and embark on the transfer to Kampala arriving in the evening.
