Day 1: Transfer to Fort Portal Area. Hike the Fort Portal Crater Field and Amabere Caves & then transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, embark on the drive to Fort Portal area 300km about 4 – 5 hours’ drive. You will drive through impressive countryside landscapes of Uganda with impressive scenic views including the scenic Mubende inselbergs. You arrive in time for lunch after which you will proceed to the Fort Portal Crater Lake Field where you will first visit the Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves, an ancient site that locals believe to be breasts of Nnyinamwiru  the daughter of Bukuku a self-enthroned King of the Bachwezi. Geologically, the features are stalactites and stalagmites.  From the caves, continue to hike the Fort Portal Crater field where you will summit the famous Kyeganywa hill offering impressive views of the crater lakes and crater hollows below and the views of Rwenzori Mountains on a clear day. Return from this activity and transfer to Kibale National Park 26km from Fort Portal town arriving at the lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Do Chimpanzee trekking in the morning and afternoon Bigodi wetland walk

Gather at Kanyanchu Tourism Center for briefing at 8am by the park rangers after which you embark on the trekking in search of chimpanzees. Kibale Forest boasts of high counts of habituated chimpanzees with over 95% chances of encountering them. The chimpanzee trekking exposes you to impressive forested landscapes with undulating terrain which presents a rewarding hike that is behind chimpanzees alone. The one hour of direct encounter with chimpanzee seeing them as they patrol, munch fruit, socialize, young ones play and make pant hooting calls generates remarkable memories. Retreat from this 2 – 5 hour activity and settle at the starting point to consume your packed lunch after which you embark on the transfer to Bigodi wetland Sanctuary for an eco-community walk through the wetland. The 3 Days Uganda Safari to Murchison Falls NP allows you to explore the Big five of land animals namely; the Rhinos which exist in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the Buffaloes, elephants, lions and leopards. Branch off at Nakitooma 115km from Kampala for 7km further reaching the Headquarters for Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You track white Rhinos thriving in a natural savannah thicket marked with tall grass. The gigantic species are among the big five of Land animals and would definitely make your encounter rewarding. After trekking Rhinos in Ziwa, settle for lunch and then continue on the drive to Murchison Falls NP arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Branch off at Nakitooma 115km from Kampala for 7km further reaching the Headquarters for Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You track white Rhinos thriving in a natural savannah thicket marked with tall grass. The gigantic species are among the big five of Land animals and would definitely make your encounter rewarding. After trekking Rhinos in Ziwa, proceed to Murchison Falls National Park to catch up with the afternoon Nile launch cruise. Congregate at Paraa jetty in the afternoon 2pm to embark on the boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. The boat cruise lasts 3 hours and offers you possibilities of encountering Nile crocodiles and Hippos. Birds like the most sought after Shoebill Stork might also be seen on the river banks enjoying the cool waters of the Nile River.

Upon reaching the bottom of the falls, you encounter the roaring sounds of the Nile River with magical sightseeing encounters. Retreat from the activity and connect to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Do game drive, explore the top of the falls & transfer to Kampala.

Connect to the park after breakfast to start the game drive at 7am in the northern section where the animals are known to thrive with better viewing possibilities. The park has open savannah rolling combretum with patches of borassus palms supporting counts of wild game including Rothschild giraffes, Elephants, Buffaloes, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Kobs, lions, leopards, and water bucks among others. The range of tracks has been specially designed to allow you explore the park in detail. Retreat from the 3 hour activity and cross the Nile with ferry. In the southern section, you visit the top of the falls which is the powerful waterfall in the world. You marvel at the waters of the Nile as they are squeezed to pass through a less than 8m ravine before falling 43m below to what has been termed as the Devil’s Cauldron forming a plume of spray and thunderous roar marked by trademark rain bow. It is a site for scenery, adventure and remarkable photography. Retreat from the activity and embark on the transfer back to Kampala arriving in the evening
