Standing as the largest country in East Africa, 13th in Africa and 31st on global scale, Tanzania is indeed a vast country stretching to 947,303 sq km with a coastline of 800 sq km.     Kilimanjaro National Park

    With three extinct volcanic cones on the most distinctive feature in the park which is Mt.Kilimanjaro, the national park lies in the Northeast of Tanzania along the border with Kenya near Moshi city and is about 300Km south of the equator. It’s the most popular and most visited National Park in Tanzania covering a total surface area of about 652Km². Historically, the area of the park was gazzeted in 1921 as a game reserve together with its adjacent forests by the German colonists. Mt.Kilimanjaro was however declared a national park in 1973 and was open for public access in 1977.

    Lake Manyara National Park

    Just about 126Km SoutHwest of Arusha city lies Lake Manyara National Park. Covering a total surface area of about 325 km², the national park lies both in the Manyara and Arusha administrative regions. The park is named after its dominant feature, Lake Manyara. Stretching at about 50Km along the 600m high rift valley escarpment , Lake Manyara National Park offers a wilderness experience in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake (Manyara), to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides.

    Ngorongo Conservation area

    The conservation area lies about 180Km west of Arusha in the crater highlands of Tanzania. The conservation area derives its name from the Ngorongoro crater which is a large volcanic caldera in the area. Ngorongoro covers a total surface area of about 8,292Km and is divided into several regions that are covered with a breath taking ecosystem and spectacular biodiversity.

    Tanzania Entry & Exit Requirements

    Passport

    A foreign national intending to travel to Tanzania has to be having a valid passport or any other recognized travel document with at least six (6) months validity issued by a given state or an International Organization recognized by the Tanzanian Government.  The British passports extended for 12 months by the British embassies and consulates while the United Kingdom Emergency Travel Documents with six (6) months validity are accepted for entry, exist and airside transit.

    Tanzania Visa

    Tanzania being a sovereign state requires one to secure a visa if he / she is to be granted entry except the Visa exempt countries.  The Visa can be secured from the Tanzanian Embassy or Consulate in the respective country in one working day or upon arrival at the selected points of entry. The Visa is granted after satisfying all the entry requirements and the duration is three (3) months from the date of entry provided the traveler has enough funds to sustain him / her and a return ticket.  The Single Tourist Entry Visa for Tanzania is placed at $50 per person, Multiple Entry Visa and Single East African Tourist Visas at $100 per person and the Tourist Visa at $30.

    These are the only points which can issue visa on arrival and for other entry points; one has to be in possession of the Visa.
